A little about my Skin type
Before I move on to review the Benton Green tea toner, let me first introduce my skin type. I have an oily acne prone skin person which is very sensitive to essential oils and exfoliating products. I keep suffering from acne every year & when I get serious reactions, my skin inflamed like hell giving me both bacterial and fungal infection.

My experience with Benton Green Tea toner
It comes in a big cylindrical size plastic black color bottle which has a small hole on the opening. The hole is very convenient to use and dispenses only the amount required. Usually some toners contain spray nozzle which has the risk of irritating eyes if sprayed directly. So I liked this packaging a lot. The required amount can be taken on palm or cotton pad and applied on skin.
Its a proper watery tonic which is extremely light weight & slightly moist in texture, almost like a plain transparent water. Doesn’t feel heavy on skin at all & gets absorb very easily.
How Benton Green Tea toner helped my skin
I found this toner really effective in balancing the sebum production on my face. Being an oily skin person I cannot take sticky or heavy toners on my face esp. during humid weather. But I definitely need one toner to provide me instant hydration without any stickiness. Benton Green tea toner does the job really well.
Along with providing hydration, it also softens my skin post cleansing. It has become a staple in both of my AM and PM routines. Its has very less exfoliating properties and hence I find it really suitable using with actives in my evening routine.
On days when I don’t feel like following a hectic and long skincare routine because of my irritated skin, I simply slather the toner post cleansing and apply a light weight moisturizer. It instantly cools down the irritation to some extent and further job is done by my light weight serum/moisturizer.
I also used this toner when I was suffering from both bacterial and fungal acne and the toner worked perfectly well for me. It didn’t aggravated my acne & inflammation. It dries down quickly relieving the stress on skin though it doesn’t play any role in healing the active acne.
Side Effects of Benton Green Tea toner
Being an extremely sensitive skin person, I always afraid of trying products on my skin but I am really happy that I gave it a shot. I didn’t face any reaction with it. Also the toner is free from oils to cause any allergies & irritations. I still recommend to do a patch test if you feel you are allergic to any of the plant extract present in its ingredient list.
What not to expect from Benton Green tea toner
Given that its a hydrating and mildly exfoliating toner but it doesn’t contain any active ingredients like AHA, BHA etc. Hence it doesn’t provide you sufficient exfoliation and act more as a hydrating toner only. It won’t help in healing the active acne on your skin and just works on calming them down. Its a fungal acne safe product too as per its ingredients breakdown on skincarisma.
How to use Benton Green Tea toner
The toner are supposed to be used post cleansing the skin and as the first step of the skincare routine. It is suitable to be used in both AM and PM routine on the same day. It can be used in 2 ways-
- Take the toner on a cotton pad and swipe it on your cleansed face and neck. I don’t like this method as it leads to product wastage.
- Take the toner in your palm and slather it on your cleansed face keeping it away from your eyes. This way it provides more hydrating & smooths the skin too.

Though toners are not a necessary part in the skincare routine and you can skip them if you are using a ph balanced cleanser. But if you feel irritated after cleansing your skin, then Benton green tea toner really helps in balancing out the PH of the skin by providing necessary hydration & smoothness. It is also very helpful to use before or after using exfoliating products in your routine esp. if you are a sensitive skin person & need a light weight calming product after exfoliation.
