Lakme Absolute Mattreal Skin Natural Mousse – Ivory Fair & Rose Fair
|Lakme Mousse: Ivory Fair|
Price: Rs 725 for 25 mg
I have an oily acne prone skin and I always look for light weight matte make up products esp. makeup bases so that my skin wont look super shiny post makeup & also my pores doesn’t get clogged with any heavy foundation/cream.
So when I came across this mousse at Lakme store and did a trial swatch of it, I really liked it & bought the ivory fair (shade) immediately as I have less than fair and more than medium skin tone 😛
I am using it from last 1 year & now I have one more shade in it i.e Rose Fair.
|Upper: Rose Fair, Lower: Ivory Fair|
Here is my expereince with it:
Its in the form of a round tub, a cute ball and has a lid inside. The only thing is I found it a little unhygenic but now lakme has come up with pump packaging too. So you need not to worry about it.
It has a very light powder like texture which feels extremely smooth on skin. It doesn’t feel heavy on skin & very easy to blend on the go.

Application & Coverage:
Only a very little product is required to be blended on face and it leaves skin smooth with a matte finish. It doesn’t make skin look shiny at all even for oily skin people. Since its a weightless formula, the skin feels breathable & not at all heavy post application. The coverage is not that good though but it really works well in hiding pores, fine lines, a little dark circles under eyes & light acne scars. It doesn’t help with hiding pimples or acne bumps & highly pigmented areas or dark acne scars. It makes the skin feel even toned & little patches become quite invisible.
But if you use it above a bb/cc cream/skin tint, it works really well as a second layer and absorbs all the unnecessary oil & shine occur due to creams. It further helps in hiding the acne scars or dark spots left out by cc creams. In fact, for dry skin types, it will work better with cc creams or moisturizers to avoid any dry patches due to it (though I don’t feel that it makes the skin dry. It just helps in oil control).
It has SPF 8 but don’t rely on it and definitely apply your sunscreen below it. That ways it helps in giving more subtle glow to the face. Also, no body can identify that u have used makeup. It looks like totally natural on skin.
Its quite good from 6-7 hours approx. & your skin wont feel oily till the time it has its effects on your skin. Its very suitable for everyday wear & as well as to parties/functions or family outing to give you a natural glowy look. It is very suitable to be used with any other makeup product like foundation/ concealer etc to give a final matte finish to your skin.
Shade range: It comes in 6 shades out of which I have swatched Ivory Fair and Rose fair. Ivory fair is really good for fair skin tones while rose fair works amazingly on almost all skin tones. I really like the Rose Fair shade as it goes really well with my light to medium skin tone.

How to Use: Post applying sunscreen/moisturizer, take a small amount on your finger tips and tap all over face. Blend it using your finger tips or a beauty blender. I wont recommend to use a foundation brush for it to avoid the product wastage.
My Final Thoughts:
- Extremely light weight & suitable for no makeup girls too
- Leaves a non oily matte finish
- Staying power is really good
- Very easy to blend
- Provides a natural glowy look
- Hides pores and uneven skin tone
- Suitable for all skin types
- Suitable for almost all Skin tones as shade range is really nice
- A little goes for long
- Controls excess oil on skin
- Tub packaging is not hygenic (though pump packaging is also available now)
- Provides light coverage only
- Does not hide dark spots, pimples and higher pigmented areas or blemishes
- It contains silicon (that’s why it is that smooth)
- Expensive for the light coverage it provides
If you are a no make up person & just wanted a natural look then you must try out this Lakme mousse as it provides a subtle glow with a matte finish. I will also recommend it to people with light patches or little scars on face as it does help in hiding them but won’t recommend it to people with darker spots and higher pigmented areas or blemishes as it doesn’t have that good coverage.
