My Experience with Benton Aloe propolis gel
Packaging is amazing because it comes in a squeezable opaque green color tube which has a flip open cap. The tube has a nozzle opening out of which required amount can be taken easily without over flowing, thus making it travel friendly.
The texture is transparent in color & super light watery thin in nature just like a serum. It absorbs into the skin instantly without leaving any stickiness behind, making it extremely suitable for oily skin.
Effectiveness on skin
Benton aloe propolis gel works like a charm on irritated & inflammed skin. Oh yes, it can give any hydrating serum a run for its money. Being a sensitive skin person, whenever I felt redness on my skin post sun exposure, my hands always reached out for benton gel. It has helped me in keeping my itched skin hydrated & calm during my fungal acne days as well. The gel provides great relaxation when I applied it on my acne wounds. It is extremely hydrating & slightly moisturizing.
Performance with actives
Benton gel works really well with any kind of actives like aha/bha/retinoids etc. I have used it as a base before applying actives on my skin which helped me in minimizing the purging on my skin. It just works like a hydrating serum to reduce itchiness & tingling caused by actives. I have used it as a buffering agent post applying aha toner & it just satisfied my sensitive skin.
Skin types & Weather
Benton aloe propolis gel is a water based oil free product which is majorly focused on hydration & slight moisturization. This makes it an awesome gel for all skin types in any kind of weather. But you will be needing a layer of moisturizer above it to seal the hydration in your skin. I have used it as a standalone moisturizer on my oily skin in summers (non- AC conditions) & it didn’t make me sweat. It works well in balancing out the oil production on my skin, so I didn’t feel the need of additional serum/moisturizer.
Results on acne marks & hyper-pigmentation
Benton aloe gel won’t work on existing dark spots and hyper-pigmentation but it definitely helps in controlling them. It minimizes the chances of acne marks by providing required nourishment to inflammed areas & acne spots.
How to use Benton aloe propolis gel
Post cleansing & toning (optional), take pea size amount on your palm and spread it all over your skin focusing on red & irritated areas. Pat it into skin using your fingers instead of massaging. Repeat again if you need more hydration. Follow up with any active based serum (if you use it in your routine) else seal it with a face oil or a moisturizer.
