UV filters used: The best thing in the sunscreen is the type of UV filters used in it. It contains 2 new UVA & UVB protecting chemical UV filters which are photo stable i.e. Tinosorb® S & Tinosorb A2B. Other than that Octocrylene & Octisalate UVB filters are also present to increase stability. Its a chemical sunscreen because it has only chemical UV filters.
Packed with humectants, emollients & skin soothing antioxidants: The sunscreen can do the work of a moisturizer as well because its packed with a lot of humectants & emollients like aloe vera extract, Cetearyl Alcohol , Propanediol, Glycerin, Caprylyl Methicone, Vitamin E etc.
Contains added fragrance & perfuming: Added scents often make a product risky for sensitive skins.
My experience with Reequill sunscreen
The packaging is totally apt as it comes in a squeezable opaque tube with a screw cap. The nozzle opening is really convenient to use without any product wastage. It is travel friendly and there are no chances of any leakage.
The sunscreen has a lotion based runny texture with white color. The issue with the consistency is you might end up taking more amount in your palm as its very runny & not thick.
Performance of sunscreen on skin
This is most important part of the review because it changed my whole perception about the sunscreen. The reason is I just don’t agree to these claims of the brand –
“Reequill sunscreen SPF 50 is specifically made for oily acne prone skins”. Like really? No not at all man!!
Feeling on skin
The sunscreen is feels very very oily and greasy on skin. It makes me look like an oil tank. I even tried applying it in an air conditioned room but it still gave me a sticky feeling which I didn’t like at all.
The sunscreen gives a slight white cast which disappears after 2 minutes of application leaving a subtle glow on skin. Yes, the sunscreen gives a nice glow to skin but with stickiness.
Not at all irritating to skin and eyes. It didn’t even irritate my active acne. But but but I am quite skeptic that it could cause breakouts on skin because it makes you sweaty really fast which could lead to pore clogging & hence acne. The fragrance is not that overpowering for sensitive noses.
As I already told you that it has a runny texture which makes the application & massaging on skin really easy. It doesn’t ball up at all. It neither stuck into your facial hair. I think it will suit dry skin types because it works as a moisturizer too providing the desired moisturized feel to dry skin.
Performance on body
Though I totally hate this sunscreen on my oily face but I loved it on my dry body. The sunscreen being lotion like is very easy to spread on body and gets absorb quickly. The ultimate UV filters present in it ensures a good protection of your exposed body areas the whole day. I don’t feel the need of a moisturizer on my body with this sunscreen application.
Why Reequill sunscreen is a worthy buy?
- Presence of photo-stable UV filters
- Works as a moisturizer too for dry skin
- Non – irritating on eyes and skin
- Easy to spread on skin
- Gives glow to skin
- Amazing sunscreen for body
- Doesn’t ball up at all
Why Reequill sunscreen is not a worthy buy?
- Feels extremely greasy and oily on skin
- Gives a white cast
- Tendency to cause acne breakouts
- Not suitable in summers
- Not suitable for oily, acne prone & sensitive skins
- Added fragrance
I really wanted this sunscreen to work on my oily skin because of its amazing ingredient list but unfortunately it really disappointed me. So won’t be recommending it to oily, acne prone sensitive skins at all. I don’t know why brand has named this sunscreen for oily skin because I think it will be more suitable for dry skin beauties. However, if you are searching for a good sunscreen for your body, then I would say its the best choice out there.
