Ever since I saw the ingredient lists of reequill sunscreens, I had added them in my wish list because I was really impressed with the kind of new UV filters used in them. I got their 2 sunscreen variants together out of which I have already reviewed one i.e Reequill Oxybenzone free sunscreen SPF 50 PA+++ for Oily acne prone skin. It didn’t work on my oily skin well, so I ended up using it on my body. Today I am reviewing Reequill Ultra Matte sunscreen variant, so keep reading to know how this variant turned out for my oily acne prone skin.

Ingredients analysis of reequill sunscreen

UV Filters used: The sunscreen is a mixture of both chemical and physical UV filters which makes it an amazing hybrid sunscreen. New chemical UV filters used are all photo stable like DHHB (a UVA filter), Diethylhexyl Butamido Triazone (a water resistant UVB filter) & BEMT (UVA & UVB filter). It also contains both zinc oxide & TiO2 as physical blockers. Such high end UV filters ensures a water-resistant high end protection even in extreme sunny weather.

Rich in Silicones: Its rich in silicone which gives it an ultra light and smooth feeling when applied on skin.

My experience with Reequill Ultra Matte sunscreen

It comes in a squeezable opaque plastic tube packaging having a screw cap. The small nozzle opening is convenient to use without any product wastage. The light weight tube is travel friendly too.

It has a very velvety smooth white color texture which feels very light & smooth on skin. It’s neither a lotion nor a cream but somewhere like a thick gel which is not runny at all.

Sunscreen performance on skin

Feeling on skin

The sunscreen has extremely mattifying texture which feels super light and non greasy on skin. I tried it in extreme humid conditions and it didn’t feel heavy on face. It spreads on skin in a smooth way (thanks to its silicone gel based formulation). There is no visible shine on skin post application which makes it an awesome sunscreen for oily skin.

White Cast?

In spite that it contains zinc oxide & TiO2, it doesn’t leave a white cast at all. It spreads like a pure transparent sunscreen on skin with not a single trace of white cast.

Irritation Level

The sunscreen ticks all the check points for an acne prone sensitive skin. It doesn’t irritate the eyes as well as active allergies/acne on skin. I even used it on my cystic acne skin and didn’t face any issues. Neither I got any breakouts with it nor felt sweaty in day light.

Its very easy to spread on skin and not required to be massaged much. It settles down on skin like a dream and gives actually a dry touch feeling. Oily skin won’t be needing any moisturizer below it but dry skin might feel the need of a moisturizer depending upon the climate conditions. It neither balls up nor stuck in the facial hair.

Performance under makeup

I havn’t seen any sunscreen sits so well under makeup without any peeling. It doesn’t ball up while applying makeup base. Dry skin beauties might need a moisturizing makeup base with this sunscreen but for oily skin it works well even with powder compact.

It has mild sweet fragrance which disappears after application. So won’t cause much issues for sensitive noses.

Outdoor performance of Reequill Ultra matte sunscreen

I have applied this sunscreen between 10.00 to 2.00 while I went for shopping & I didn’t face any sun burn & tan (given that I try to protect my skin with cloth as well while driving). The sunscreen sits really well on skin without making me sweat much. Its a water – resistant sunscreen, so it can last you for atleast 5-6 hours in day light (though I would still suggest you to reapply if you can). I normally don’t get time or space to reapply sunscreen while I am out, so in that case I am very much satisfied with its results.

How to use Reequill Ultra matte sunscreen

I normally take a dollop amount (a big coin size amount) in my palm for face and neck but since its a non runny gel based, its tough to take correct dollop amount. So I use the 3 finger rule for this sunscreen out of which 2 fingers I apply on my face and one on my neck to ensure all areas are completely covered. Spread well like a layer all over face & it won’t take much time to settle down without any white cast.

Pro-Tip: Always double cleanse your face in the evening if you apply sunscreen during day so that your skin won’t face any breakouts due to accumulated left over sunscreen & dirt on face.

I just loved the Reequill Ultra matte dry touch sunscreen out of all the OTC sunscreens I have tried till now. I would highly recommend this sunscreen to all skin types without a second thought.
